History of the Cudahy Doors

Since 2009, graduates have been walking through these doors at New Student Convocation as first-year students and walk out of the doors in the days leading up to their graduation from Loyola University Chicago.

These doors are incredibly meaningful for our graduates as they represent both the beginning and end of their journey at Loyola University Chicago as students.

Known as the “Cudahy Doors” or the “Green Doors” they have become a favorite photo opportunity for both prospective, current, and graduating students.

Remember as you visit campus...

Loyola University Chicago remains focused on the health, safety, and well-being of our community as our top priority, and we understand that families and graduates may visit campus to take celebratory photos to mark this milestone achievement following the walk through the Cudahy doors.

To protect the health and safety of all students, faculty, and staff, we ask that if you choose to visit campus that you:

  • Wear a mask or face covering that always covers both your nose and mouth. Ensure your guests wear a mask or face covering that always covers both their nose and mouth as well.
  • Socially distance yourself and guests from others on campus.
  • Limit the number of guests that accompany you and follow campus guidelines for what is legally allowed and medically advisable.
  • Please limit your photos to outdoor campus space only. For more information on what resource’s and facilities are currently available to students, please click here.
  • Follow all directions posted on and/or around campus buildings and signage boards throughout the campus.
  • Keep the Rambler Promise of care for self, care for others, and care for the greater community in mind.
  • We ask that you abide by all current City of Chicago COVID-19 guidelines and travel orders, if applicable.
